Rebuilding Hope: Serap Lee Foundation and Tatopani Team Transform Shree Chakra Devi Primary School
Serap Jangbu Sherpa, in collaboration with the Korean Teacher Education Workers Union Chungnum Team, visited Shree Chakra Devi Primary School, located in Dhulikhel, Nagar Palika 1, Pakucha. This visit was part of their ongoing efforts to support communities in need, particularly in the aftermath of natural disasters.
The school had suffered severe damage during the earthquake, leaving its infrastructure in ruins. As a result, the children were forced to study under makeshift bamboo shelters, facing immense challenges due to the inadequate and unsafe learning environment. Determined to make a difference, Serap Jangbu Sherpa and the Chungnum Team stepped in to rebuild the school from the ground up, ensuring a safe and conducive space for education.
Their efforts culminated in the construction of a brand-new school building, complete with all necessary facilities. Beyond the physical structure, they also generously donated essential school supplies and materials, ensuring that the students had everything they needed to continue their education without hindrance. The attached pictures capture glimpses of the construction process, though the official handover ceremony was held separately.
Serap Jangbu Sherpa and the team remained deeply involved throughout the project, making frequent visits to monitor progress. Key visits took place on December 29th, 2018, and February 5th, 2019, where they observed the construction developments and ensured that the project stayed on track. Their dedication and commitment to the cause have left a lasting impact on the school and the community, providing hope and opportunity for the children of Shree Chakra Devi Primary School.
